Meet the Owner – Jenene Bothma

One day, I made the brave decision to follow my heart. I resigned, used my pension to pay off my debts, and enrolled in college — all while raising my two little girls. It wasn’t easy, but it was worth every challenge. As my knowledge grew, I began doing hair for clients in their homes to support my studies and build a loyal clientele. I also volunteered at a salon on weekends to gain experience and hours required by my college.

Before long, my clients encouraged me to start my own salon. With faith and determination, I turned two rented rooms into my very first salon space. As the business grew, I was able to employ an operator and later a junior stylist. Eventually, we expanded to use the entire house — creating a beautiful space that included a hair salon, beauty room, and gift shop.

After about ten successful years, my family and I felt a calling to make a change. Through prayer and God’s guidance, doors opened in Jeffreys Bay, and it became clear that this was where we were meant to be. I began working as a stylist at Beautique Salon, and a few months later, God opened another door — the opportunity to buy the salon.

Today, I’ve been the proud owner of Beautique Hair & Beauty for over seven years, and I can truly say I enjoy every moment. I’m so thankful for my incredible team, who share my vision for excellence, care, and creativity. Most of all, I give all glory to God, who continues to bless me with strength, wisdom, energy, and health to lead and serve both my clients and my staff.

With around three years of salon experience, Dazne is one of Beautique’s growing talents. She first discovered her passion when her cousin, who used to work at the salon, introduced her to the world of hair. Though she had no previous work experience before joining Beautique, she quickly fell in love with the calming, soothing feeling she gets while working on a client’s hair.

From the very beginning, [Name] knew that hairstyling was her calling. Right after finishing school, she began her apprenticeship at one of Bloemfontein’s top training salons, Maison Costa. Since then, she has been building her career as a dedicated stylist, perfecting her craft over 14 years.

Her Beautique journey started in a unique way — while visiting on holiday, she had her hair styled by one of Beautique’s talented team members. An unexpected opportunity arose, and she joined the Beautique family in 2020. She has been thriving ever since.

Her journey with Beautique Salon began in 2018, when Jenene bought the business. It was there that she fell in love with the hair and beauty industry, which inspired her to start studying.

She earned her Beauty Specialist Diploma in 2019 at Total Concept in Port Elizabeth, and in 2020, she became a qualified gel nail technician through Maskscara. Since then, she has continued to learn and grow, always striving to give her clients the very best.
